Okay. I stalled-out last week on my blog. I’ll try and do better this week, but I’ll need your help. I need your prayers! You see, I have a heavy speaking schedule coming up for this fall and winter. Whenever my speaking schedule is heavy, my life seems to go haywire! For example, last week I had a wreck!
No one was hurt—just my car. As I sat at a red light, the lady in front of me decided to change positions. Not seeing me behind her, she proceeded to back up! I tried warning her I was there by blowing my horn, but she hit me anyway. Everything seemed to move in slow motion as my mind played out the events before they actually occurred.
It’s a scary moment when a monster size Suburban begins to back over you while sitting in a small convertible. Images of my life pasted before my eyes as I knew the top would cave crushing my body into a million unrecognizable pieces. I envisioned my husband cashing in my life insurance policy, and then, sitting on an exotic beach somewhere in the south pacific sipping a cold drink. But that’s how it played out in mind. What actually happened is the woman stopped immediately after she heard the crunching sound of metal underneath the backside of her car as it rolled over the top of mine.
We both got out of our cars to examine the damage. The first thing the woman said was…
“I can’t believe you were right on my tail or I’d of seen you.”
OH, NO, SHE DIDN’T JUST BLAME ME?! SHE BACKED OVER MY CAR! That’s what I was thinking. After taking a deep breath and praying ‘help me Jesus,’ I said. “No, I wasn’t on your tail. I don’t know why you couldn’t see me or hear my horn.” She didn’t reply.
While her car was fine, mine was not. The grill was busted and the hood dented. I had a mixed bag of emotions as I gazed at my mangled little sports car. I was mostly saddened but that emotion quickly changed when the lady made her next comment.
“I could glue that for you.” She offered looking at the mangled grill.
OH , NO, SHE DIDN’T JUST SAY THAT??? I could feel my blood pressure beginning to boil!
These are the moments that define why I’m a Christian speaker and author. Remembering who I am and Whom I represent keeps me out of trouble—sometimes. I wanted to snap off her head and then GLUE it back on, but the Holy Spirit reminded me to respond with kindness. He can be so bossy at times!!
Well…long story shortened… I got her insurance information and spent the rest of the week getting estimates for my car.
Last week, we also celebrated my son’s 12 birthday and my mom’s 70th! Family, life, and ministry are always a juggling act. However, for me, it’s more so during the fall and winter. That’s why I need your prayers. I believe prayer is the work we do that moves the hand of God. I need some Holy intervention to be wife, mom, and minster over the next several months. I bet you do, too. Life is a juggling act for all of us. So, as you pray for me, my family, and for God to speak to the hearts of those I’ll have the privilege of serving, know that I will be praying for you too.
Here is my upcoming schedule for September:

Sept 19-20—women’s Conference in Mongolia, KY

Lord, you are the Great I AM and we are honored to serve you. You have your hand on Micca. That reality should bring a smile to her face and lift a heart that anticpates many things. She has nothing to fear. You will be her peace and her refuge as she begins a busy schedule speaking. You have blessed her with the ability to share you with others in a beautiful way. You will give her what she needs to serve her family and others. I know that above all she wants to honor you in all the things. Thank you Jesus. You are the BEST! Amen

You already know I’m praying for you! I’m sorry that I had to laugh at your wreck story, but honestly that woman’s goofyness was just too much. I guess if she had flattened you with the car she wouldn’t have called 911, but just pulled out her glue gun and tried to piece you back together. Such caring and concern she showed and all!
I want to go with you when you speak sometime because you attract way too much fun- and trouble- for one person to handle alone.
