I forgot to tell you that I would post the winner on Monday! That gives the weekend visitors time to leave their tips, too. If you’re wondering what I’m talking about–see the post below and enter to win two free books!
Last night my husband and went on a date. We only have one rule on date night. Neither of us can talk about the kids. Our lives are centered on our children most of the time. So on date night, it’s just about him and me. We talked and we laughed. He even went shopping with me as long as I held his hand. (I’m thinking of re-doing the hall bathroom. It’s time. Any suggestions?!)
Back to the date…
When we got home, we read all the wonderful tips and comments left on my blog. They were all a great source of encouragement. There was one tip, however, that my husband named his favorite. It was from Chatty Kelly. She wrote:
“One word: Sex. Its okay, really, you’re married. Most men need physical expressions of love. It builds their ego, relaxes them, and makes them feel loved. And it’s free and fun.”
My husband added, “Now that’s my kind of date night!” I thought to myself, “Do men ever have another topic on their minds than this one?”
Since he picked a tip that caught his eye, I picked one too. This is from Jean at hehasbeensogood7:
“Thank you for your Proverbs 31 Devotion for today on Cultivating a Beautiful Marriage. I am the ordinary woman that this devotion is talking about. Many would say, why would he want a woman like me. He deserves somebody better. He can have anybody he wants. I am not good enough for him. However, here, I am not talking about my husband, Frank. The man whom I married is Jesus Christ. I am His bride. He has lovingly spoken positive and encouraging words to me day and night. He will continue until I believe that I am beautiful. He is “taking time to care for me and fertilize my confidence until I grow into the grandeur display that I was always meant to be”. Of course, this devotion had a totally different message, but God had something very special for me today!!! Just a loving reminder. “
Wow! What a wonderful perspective for us all whether we are married or single. We are His bride. Beautiful in His eyes, we are His joy and delight.
Spend some time in God’s Word today. Allow Him to pull you close and whisper words of endearment to you! I know I will!
