I thought the snow had followed me home!
Friday morning, we woke to find the schools were closed due to snow! The kids and I rushed to the window anticipating a white covering glistening in the sun.
Well…there was something glistening on the ground, but it wasn’t snow. It was frost! Apparently, there was the threat of snow so keeping true to the Tenn snow procedure, schools were closed…just in case!
The kids were disappointed that it didn’t snow, but I found it rather funny after being in several inches of snow that didn’t slow down one person in Michigan.
That reminds me. I promised to show you some of the deck out table decorations! Over one hundred tables were decorated each night!
I would have never thought of putting green and purple together until now. What a favbulous table!!

So pretty!
The first year I moved back to Charlotte after living in the midwest it snowed 13 inches and the whole city came to an abrupt halt. Having lived in snow country for a long time I couldn’t understand the problem and why on earth the streets weren’t cleared and the National Guard had to come get me and take me to work at the hospital!
Also, I don’t know about Tenn., but here in the Carolinas if it snows almost every house has a snowman in the yard. That doesn’t happen in places where snow is a regular event. We really enjoy our snow here and our snow days too!

Hello! I am here in Grand Rapids, Michigan and it’s way colder than when you were here {it’s more like the frozen tundra now!}. I always laugh when I hear about other states closing schools … we’ve sure done our share of being burried in snowbanks while waiting for the busses to make their way through. It’s unreal what we get out and drive in!! {I mostly think we’re just plain nuts!} Anyway I sure enjoyed hearing you speak. Love that accent you know. *wink* and yes, weren’t those tables sooo beautiful. I sure enjoyed getting ideas for my own Christmas parties that are just around the corner. Thanks for visiting Michigan!
