Some days are so hard all I care to do or can do is crawl up in the lap of God and ask Him to love on me. Yesterday was one of those days. I’ll spare you the details. What’s important is in the end everything turned out okay. What made the difference? Taking the time to get a God-hug.
Asking God to love on us is hard for some to wrap their minds around, but God delights in loving his children. In fact, Isaiah uses marital imagery to stress how God rejoices in his people: “As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.” (Isaiah 62:5b)
We live in a world where many people are simply too busy or too preoccupied to notice us or our hurts. But God delights in us. We make his supernatural heart skip a beat. Understanding this truth helps me know right where to go when I’m in need of a God-hug. And God is always ready and waiting with his arms opened wide.
Do you need a God hug today? Feel his love wrap around you as you read these verses:

He heals the broken heart and binds up their wounds. Ps 147:3
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:12
