There are days that I feel like nothing more than a sinner. I can’t seem to get it together. Everything I do seems to reveal my fallen nature. I’ve learned to cry out to God on those days. You see, while it’s true that we have to live with our fallen nature, we do have a new nature—God’s nature—living on the inside of us. If we—If I—will yield to His nature, I can be more than a conquer.
I love that truth! I love it more when I experience the reality of it. Still, I struggle with the fact that I’m a sinner-tarnished-broken-junk. You know what I mean? And I wonder what kind of value am I?
Just when the enemy starts whispering such lies to my heart, God in His great mercy and grace responds as I stumble across this verse:
Even as You [the Father] have given Him [Jesus, the Son] authority over all flesh to give eternal life to all whom You have given Him. (John 17:2)
I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. (verse 6)
Suddenly, it became clear. I am a gift—a gift given by my heavenly Father to His son, Christ. Who do you know that would give a broken, tarnished gift to anyone?
No one would! What mother or father would give junk to their child? None that is loving.
Therefore, I need to say, “Praise God that I am a precious gift whom the Father gave the Son. I am dear, precious, good, high, and even lovely. I am a gift, not a trash can. The Father would never give a trashcan to His Son. As one who has been given to God’s dear Son, I am precious, dear, lovely, and sweet.”
Yes, I’ll fight this nature until God calls me home, but I need not let it define me; for I am a gift of God given to His Son. So are you! Every saint is a gift selected by the Father and given to the Son. Let this truth sink deep into your heart today. Let it change your outlook and attitude about who are and whose you are—a precious gift of God.

I am a gift….from the Father to the Son. New thought for me. I'm sure I heard it before but never sank into my spirit as it has this morning.
I will continue to ponder this awesome fact….Thank-you Jesus! Really, I'M a GIFT? Wow!
