What’s the situation? It’s that I could seriously be the gal on the right. If you feel the same, you probably listened to Lysa’sMade to Crave webcast last night. It was AWESOME! If you missed it, you can catch it again today at 12 or 3 EST. Also, if you have trouble viewing the webcast, try www.ksbj.org.
Last night I took away three great tips I plan to incorporate into my diet.
1. Drinking 16 oz of water each day. Doing so will help you cut calories
2. Add 25 grams of fiber a day. I once heard that if you add fiber to your diet and do nothing else you’ll lose at least 10 pounds in a year’s time. Let me know if that works.
3. Use the GPS concept. This is my favorite. When I blow it, I usually give up. The GPS concept says–don’t give up–make u-turn instead and start over. You and I can always go back to healthy eating.
Actually, for me…watching what I eat isn’t the problem. It’s watching what others are eating. Anybody know what I mean?! It’s hard to eat a salad when my kids are having a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. Just writing that made my mouth water. I’m sure heaven has Italian food.
Here’s the thing. I’ve struggled with my weight ever since I can remember. It’s probably because I come from an Italian family who uses food for everything. We’re always eating! So, I never developed good eating habits. For example. Here are my diet tips & strategy on looking thinner: Use at your own risk!
- Always stand next to a person fatter than you whenever possible.
- Cross your legs at your ankles. Your thighs and calves will look slimmer.
- Wear dark colors. They take off 10 pounds automatically.
- Get a tan. Same concept as above.
- Laugh often. It’s worth 10 minutes of exercise.
- Don’t skip desert. Have it instead of a meal.
- Always stand sideways or in the back row when being photographed
- When someone suggest you need to “get in shape” tell them round is a shape.
- Don’t hang mirrors in your home larger than 8 x 10
- Never trust a dog to watch your food.
On a serious note, I really want to take control of my life–not just my eating habits. I don’t want to crave anything more than I crave God—including food. Therefore, I’m looking forward to re-shaping my entire life. That’s what Lysa’s book is about. Thanks for the laugh! But, stand sideways?? Back row is best although I’m so short I’m never allowed back there =)
I started reading Made to Crave this morning. I watched the webcast last night at 10…. I was very sleepy and think I fell asleep through some of it =(
I’m excited for this journey!
Blessings and have a great day!
