What a week! What a weekend! What a conference! What a God! She Speaks was a huge blessing. God showed up and out as usual. I’m so honored to have been a part of it. God did so much in my heart, but the one thing I keep thinking about came from our Saturday night speaker, Ann Voskamp, author of One Thousand Gifts.
“Everything is a gift, every moment, every sunrise, every breath, every tear, every laughter, every small thing… the warmth of the sun, the shade of the tree, the rain, the flower, the bee, the seed that sprouts a new flower, puppy dog snuggles, bed-time stories, a cool breeze… one thousand gifts“ (my paraphrase)
Her words and insights made me realize that as bad as our world may be, it’s still full of goodness and beauty. It’s a gift.
After a long week away, I came home to several sweet gifts… my family, a clean house, roses from my favorite guy and dinner out too!
Sweet gifts for a very tired lady.
I encourage you to take a moment, look around and see what gifts are in your life. Then, count them as gifts and thank the Lord.

Dear Micca,
The Lord has taught me today to rely in His love that awakes me every morning, to see the goodness and mercies that surround me everyday… to count the gifts and blessings He has given to me.

Oh Micca…it was a perfect weekend. Thanks to all of you. I had never heard of Ann Voscamp. Her message was life changing. There are many things I am grateful for just in those sentences I’ve written. And yes, I am thankful for you and your message on Sunday too. You spoke with such love, humor, compassion…and by the way, how the heck do you know me so well? I thought all that jealousy and envy was so well hidden…
I have allowed comparison to devastate me many times. It is monstrous! Thank you for sharing your message in a real, relatable, funny, touching way. Because of you, She Speaks ended on a high note for me. Blessings to you!!!

I wasn’t there, but you all were not far from my thoughts. (I was with 60 of my favorite people….extended family from all over the US!) I would have loved to hear Ann speak. I bought her book and bought it again for my Kindle! Sounds like you gave a wonderful message as well!
Blessings!
