This past Spring I was in New Jersey speaking at a women’s event. A sweet lady stood and shared this story…
There were two little girls playing together on the beach. The first little girl said to the other, “See that ship out there,” pointing to the ocean.
“Yes.” Replied the second girl.
“My father owns that ship,” she explained. “And do you see that jet flying in the sky above?” she continued.
“Yes.” Confirmed the other girl.
“My father owns that jet?” Then turning toward land, she added. “See that big house on the hill?”
“Yes, I do.” The other girl answered.
“My father owns that house,” she stated with pride.
The other girl sat quietly for a moment. Then she asked the first girl, “See the ocean your fathers boat floats upon?”
“Yes. Of course, I do.” Replied the first girl.
“My heavenly Father owns that ocean. And see your father’s jet flying across the sky?” she questioned pointing toward the heavens.
“Affirmative.” Answered the first girl with a sneer on her face.
“My heavenly Father made the sky. And see those hills where your father’s house sets? My heavenly Father owns all the hills in all the lands.”
This story causes me to think about the sovereignty of God and His mighty works in creation. I’m reminded that He, and He alone, is the Master over all. God has no limits to what He can do. He knows all, owns all and is all-powerful. He is the only One in control. Your circumstance isn’t in control. God is. Even under the most serve circumstances, the deepest of wounds, when the bottom falls out, God is in control. He’s got my back and yours. To me, this brings great comfort that God is aware and He is not limited by the circumstances of this world. That’s why I put my trust in Him—the Master of all.
I’m praying today that you are able to rest in God. I pray that you will trust Him with your situation, hurt or burden. Let Him carry the load. He can shoulder way more than you can. In fact, God want’s to be your burden bearer. He’s willing to take your burden from you and carry it Himself. Will you trust Him? Then, tell Him. There are no limits to what God can do.

Thank You Micca, Our Lord amazes me, my husband and I are in a “valley” with our 17 year old daughter, and each day I open my email and I find Proverbs 31 Ladies there to inspire and bless us. God is so good. I thank Him for all of you and I thank Him for our trials, as we are growing stronger in faith and trust in Him. The strength He has given us is amazing.
Dearest Lord, Thank You for these beautiful ladies, and all the staff, for their love, compassion, for taking time from their lives to enrich the lives of all the sisters out in the world. You are an amazing God.
Blessed…..

Your devotions remind me so much of my mom and dad. My Dad has ALS, and is confined to a wheelchair unable to use his arms and legs. His speach is greatly impaired and he just had a feeding tube put in. My mom is 71 and is his primary caretaker. It is very hard for both of them emotionally, mentally and of course physically. My mom, especially, has always had such an amazing faith and love for God. I can tell though, she is tired and burdened. Please pray for them. Their names are Alton and Libby. Thank you for your encouragement.

Thank you for this and the Proverbs 31 devotional ftom the other day. My husband has pretty much given up on our marriage and I’m hurting. It’s been a long, hard year and no end is really in sight. These words are great reminders of WHO God is.
