How do we get to a safe place in God where we can live carefree by leaving our anxious cares with Him? We follow Peter’s advice in 1Peter 5:7.
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
God knew you would be concerned about the necessities of life. Even the most mature Christians today are apt to labor under the burden of personal concerns, family woes, and cares for the present and future. Peter saw this anxious care as a heavy burden, and gave us some wise counsel for dealing with it.
Peter’s advice is to cast all of your cares upon God. We are to throw the cares that distract us, wound our bodies and soul, and those things that lie heavily on our hearts and cast them upon the wise and gracious providence of God.
You can do that because He cares for you.
Think of it this way. When you have a worrisome burden whom do you turn to? I usually call my mom or a close friend. I turn to someone I know who cares about me, who will give me wise advice and help carried the burden with me. I bet you do too!
Here’s the thing. God is saying to you and me, “I’m that person who cares deeply for you!”
Isn’t that amazing? You and I don’t have to carry the burden of our worries. God is willing to release us from our cares and take our concerns upon Himself. Our job is to release them to His care.

Micca – Thank you for such encouraging words. I’m learning as I walk through some very difficult things that I have nobody to turn to and that He is the only one that is there for me. Your words have blessed me today.

Thank you for this Micca. Yes, this hits home. When I’m going thru troubles, I tend to grab the phone. I’m learning that I should ALWAYS turn to GOD FIRST, then wait. The wait time is hard, but I know that God will answer in His time, not mine. And that His ways are better than mine. I love that I can cast my anxieties and cares on God, and He will take care of them. As always very encouraging words, thanks again. God Bless Anna

Micca, I believe I read an excerpt from your book awhile back and it is definitely on my list of books to read and share! Casting my cares on Him tonight in prayer! God is the Only One that can take that burden from me and release me from my anxiety and/or stress. Praise Jesus!
