A burglar broke into a home and was looking around. He heard a soft voice say, “Jesus is watching you”. Thinking it was just his imagination, he continued his search. Again the voice said “Jesus is watching you”. He turned his flashlight around and saw a parrot in a cage. He asked the parrot if he was the one talking and the parrot said, “yes.” He asked the parrot what his name was and the parrot said, “Moses.” The burglar asked, “what kind of people would name a parrot Moses?” The parrot said, “the same kind of people who would name their German Shepherd Jesus”.
That’s a funny joke but the truth is Jesus Christ is always watching you and me.
In Ps 139:7-8 it says, “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.”
Many of you that left comments yesterday expressed feeling alone, depressed, and discouraged. I want you to know first, I have prayed for you. And secondly, God is not some far off God unaware of you and your challenges. He is near. There is nowhere you can go that you are out of His sight.
Like a loving father, God is watching over you. He is working behind the scenes for your good.
Sadly, however, we often miss God’s goodness and help for lack faith.
Start today differently.
- Ask God for what you need.
- Then, thank Him for His provision.
- Finally, believe He will follow through. The Word tells us that God withholds nothing from His children.
When we put our trust in God, our day is brighter, our spirits are lifted, and we have a sense of stability and peace that we long for. Will you give faith a chance today?

Thank you for your faith and love for the Lord that comes through all you write. You are so encouraging. Yesterday’s devotion really spoke to me too.. I love that your hubby stepped in for you. It melted my heart. God does that for us too. Thank you for the reminder of how we can rely on Him for all things. I have a special needs niece and sometimes I feel overwhelmed. God gives me strength and wisdom all the time. I appreciate your encouragement.

This is my first time reading your blog. I have to admit that it was right on time and what I needed to hear. I have struggled all my life with a very low self esteem and a feeling of not being worthy. I want nothing more than to grow spiritually, but continue to struggle with negativity. Thank you for your words.
