I’m deeply burdened. Too many pastors, authors, and speakers are censoring the message of God today to fit “political correctness” or worldviews rather than preaching the full Word of God. This proves we’ve lost our focus.
God has called us to be light in a dark world. When the world enters the church and the message is altered to make sinners feel comfortable, we’ve lost our prophetic voice. Patting people on the back instead of exhorting them to obey or repent only keeps them bound to their ungodly habits, hurts, and hang-ups.
This may explain why we live in a time of biblical illiteracy. It may clarify why some Christians support and tolerate our changing world because they don’t really know what God says about such things.
More and more churches are explaining away biblical truth as if it no longer pertains to us today. Doing so may draw numbers, but drawing numbers is not the same as building a church.
Telling the people what they want to hear instead of challenging them to hear and obey the Word of God is NOT the Word of God. The bible warns, “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear” (2 Timothy 4:3).
We are living in those times, and I’m deeply concerned. We must give people the truth. For some, it may be uncomfortable, but it will bring the life-change their heart desires and God longs to give them.
When the full truth of God’s Word is not being taught, we lose sight of our spiritual condition. We think we’re okay when the reality is we have no idea how far we have fallen from God. Our churches are in desperate need of revival. It begins with you and me. We need to examine ourselves and ask, “Do I need personal revival?”
I do. It’s only when we return to God that will He return to us, heal us, forgive us, and heal our land.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
This verse puts the responsibly in our hands. It says, “If My people.” If Christians, not politicians, not sinners who don’t know any better, but God’s people take a stand and repent God will move.
Henry Blackaby urges, “We must get back to teaching the whole counsel of God, and then, have the courage and boldness to uphold holiness while expressing compassion to those who fall short.” When we do that, we can expect change.
We have the power to turn our world upside right. We can take back Christianity and bring glory to God. The question is are you willing to do what God requires to bring healing and restore bibical morality to our world?
Reflected on this article:
Are you in a bible believing church?
Do you find yourself listening to preachers who give “feel good” messages?
If so, why are you drawn to this type of preaching?
What has been the benefit?
Have you experienced any life-change?
Have you experienced God, freedom from your past, and all that holds you hostage?
If not, why not?
Is God calling you to repent and turn from your ungodly habits and hang-ups such as letting go of bitterness, unforgiveness, envy, pride, hurt etc….
If so, how will your respond to God today?
God, indeed, understands and cares about you and your situation. Although that’s comforting to know it will not change anything. God’s comfort provides the courage we need to obey and repent of our ways and turn back to Him. Then, you will not only find comfort, but freedom and peace your heart longs for. This is the whole truth.

Beautifully written and heartfelt words. It is so very important that we lead people to the truth that repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ alone is what produces salvation. So many people are afraid to tell the truth because of what they fear will happen if they do. Thank you for standing up and using your voice to speak God’s truth. May God bless you.

This puts into concrete words a concern I couldn’t articulate. Thank you. It also gives me guidance as to how to get my own life in sync with what God wants. Today happens to be my birthday and this is the best gift I have received. A second, humble thank you.
