The road of life is often lined with many obstacles that block our path. —a strained relationship, a lost job or opportunity, a sick loved one. When unwelcome barriers bring us to a halt, we can quickly become disheartened and lose faith.
Yet, we are not without provision. God promises “Lo, I am with you always” to those who love and trust Him. (Matthew 28:20b).
Consider the widow woman in the bible. (2 Kings 4:1-7) She was too poor to pay her bills or even eat. In those days, they didn’t just take everything you own but they took your children too! Can you imagine?
The widow cried out to Elisha, one of God’s servants, for help. After hearing her situation, he asked, “What do you have in your house?
Strange question, right? Not really.
Elisha wanted the woman to see that God would meet her in her need right where she was. The widow didn’t have to look outside of her faith. If she trusted God, He could multiply her smallest of resources. And, He did!
The poor woman had only one jar of oil to make food for her and her son. God did more than fill her jar. He gave her an unending supply of oil.
God wants to meet your needs too. No obstacle is too great for Him! He is eager to help those who love and trust Him.
