Whew! What a trip! We are home from the World Series and finished in 3rd place. It was a memorable experience! While I had hoped we’d go all the way, I was a bit relieved that I didn’t have to dye my hair orange. It was strange enough speaking in TX this past Saturday with orange finger nails.
What a fantastic group of Texan women! I liked them right off because they sounded like me when they spoke. Most of the time, I speak in the North. Not only do we pronounce words differently, but we have southern sayings that Northerner’s just don’t get. No offence. I’m sure that goes both ways.
For example: in the South, when we say “I’m fixing to go to Wal-Mart” that means we’re about to or getting ready to go.
When you talk with a Southern about things such as moral decline, they may respond with something like “Boy, I tell you what.” If you’re waiting for “the what,” there is none. That’s just a Southern’s way of agreeing that times are tough.
And if you’re looking for a Southern, you can always find them “over yonder.”
Yep, I felt right at home in TX. And the Lord really showed up and out at the conference. Out of 200 women, 87 responded and 11 made first time commitments!! It’s amazing what God can do through this earthly vessel. I’m continually awed at His great mercy which allows me to be His servant.
Well…thanks, friends, for cheering us on during the World Series! That meant a lot to both me and my son. I’m grateful that we made it through without sickness, getting lost, or exposure of body parts!
What a fun God we have to give us such pleasures in life and good friends to share them with!
-sending 10,000 blessings your way!

Micca,
I live in Southern Indiana and have most all my life and I say some of those things…I say quite often “Oh boy I tell ya what….”
Plus I’m always fixin’ to do this or fixin’ to do that. (No “g”).
I sent you a direct email from my email again. It is titled “you in Magnolia, KY”. I am inquiring for one about your conference there.
Please check your email to see if anything from Paula P is in there. It is from hotmail.com account but sometimes it might make it into junk mail because of the id “dierkesp”.
Let me know.
In Him,
Paula
